Tax rises might cut the number of skilled employment opportunities that are available in the UK, while harming the country''s competitiveness, an expert has highlighted.

One Hundred Group chairman Ashley Almanza is reported by the Daily Telegraph as saying that fewer skilled jobs may become available in the near future due to the pressures that things like income tax are placing on companies.

He commented that the government''s "objective to see the UK accumulate expertise in technology and highly skilled employment" would not be supported by growing taxes.

Earlier this month, the Institute of Directors claimed that red tape and paperwork may additionally be proving costly to UK businesses, with firms having to spend around £80 billion annually to meet the regulatory obligations that apply to them. ADNFCR-2386-ID-19648350-ADNFCR
