Welcome to Taylor Vinters’ service for individual clients. We represent private clients from all walks of life and from all around the world.
Trust us with your legal requirements and you’ll be supported by lawyers of the highest calibre. You’ll be part of a sophisticated client care programme, which will see us ask questions about what you need, and ensure that you get it.
We now offer this support to our ex-pat clients in Asia through our team in Singapore. In particular, we offer the following services:
Help with buying or letting a property in the UK and EU
It’s no surprise that much of the work we do for our ex-pat clients revolves around property. Whether you are letting the family home in the UK, buying a holiday property in Europe or searching for a place to return home to, our expertise will make the transition easy.
The UK market remains very attractive to inward investors - the security of the product, the trusted legal system and the good return on investment in both rental income and appreciation - means that the market is stronger than ever with great opportunities. Click here for more information.
Support with managing your money and preserving your assets
Whether your money derives from income built up during a successful career, from the sale of a business or from an inheritance, we will take the time to understand your priorities and adopt a common sense and practical approach toward fulfilling them. You may be living abroad with assets back home, for example, or helping elderly relatives in the UK with their affairs. Whatever the case, we tailor all our services to your specific situation.
Help at work
More people are working overseas than ever before. Because we operate internationally, we have the expertise to follow our clients as their jobs take them around the globe. We advise on employment law issues throughout the world, working with our local partner firms as required to ensure that our clients thrive with each move.
Advice about relationship breakdown
The ex-pat lifestyle has many advantages, but life in a different country can be complex and can bring with it added pressure on family relationships. Whether you are contemplating marriage or a long-term commitment and want to protect your assets, facing the end of a relationship and need a route forward or just want to help another family member, we will listen and offer pragmatic support and advice.
Caring for your family
For most of us, nothing is more important that our personal relationships and families. But life in the fast lane can be complex and the competing priorities that we all grapple with in our daily lives can be amplified when you are living abroad. The ex-pat lifestyle has many advantages but can bring with it added pressure on family relationships.
Whether you are contemplating marriage or a long-term commitment and want to protect your assets, facing the end of a relationship and need a route forward, or just want to help another family member, we will listen and offer pragmatic support.
When so much of life revolves around work, it can be difficult to find the time to get your personal finances in order or sometimes even to know where to start.
Whether your money derives from income built up during a successful career, from the sale of a business or is inherited, our lawyers will start by taking time to understand what is important to you and adopt a common sense and practical approach towards helping you achieve it.
Helping you with tax and estate planning
We advise ex-pats looking to organise their affairs in the UK. The issue of domicile is often complex and just because an individual has not lived in the UK for a significant period, it does not mean that they are no longer domiciled in the UK. If you are still regarded as UK domiciled then your worldwide assets could be liable to UK Inheritance Tax at 40%. We can advise on issues of domicile and subsequent tax planning strategies to protect your assets.
We can also advise non-domiciled clients looking to invest in UK property. We work closely with our Property/Real Estate teams to ensure that clients are fully aware of the UK taxation and succession laws involved in holding a UK asset. We can then recommend and implement the necessary structures to minimise tax liabilities.
