Join Us - Working With Us - Learning and Development

Just because our lawyers are qualified does not mean their learning and development experience is complete.  Actually, that’s far from reality.

All our lawyers continue to learn and develop themselves and receive on average 29 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points per annum, almost double the minimum obligation.  Technical subjects vary according to legal disciplines and can cover new directives and statutes through to regulatory matters.

In addition, we provide lawyers with soft skills training around IT, time management, client care, innovation and tendering for new business.  What’s more, some lawyers choose to specialise and study exams for higher advocacy rights or for diplomas in commercial bodies that corroborate their understanding of their discipline of law.

We also support our non-lawyers, providing opportunities to study for chartered institutes of marketing, personnel, public relations, project management or finance.

We also keep an eye on the big picture.  Throughout the year, we invite well known members of the business community to address all members of our business on developments concerning socio-economic plans or changes in clients’ attitudes to law firms through to the impact of the Legal Services Bill on our sector.

If we are to sustain a reputation of excellence - we can never stop learning.
