We have years of experience working with leading high-technology engineering clients, from manufacturers and component suppliers through to technology consultancies. We also know that serving our clients effectively is not only about law; our high-technology engineering team is packed full of dual qualified engineers, scientists and second career lawyers who appreciate the real world value of intellectual property exploitation and protection. We recognise that transaction and project management skills are an essential part of what we do and so our team also includes a qualified PRINCE2 practitioner to assist in ensuring that projects and transactions are delivered on time and to budget.
We have a track record of working with sub and prime suppliers, as well as Government bodies, such as the UK MOD, on innovative technology matters. We understand the practical realities and programme management issues of the sector, including in relation to export control matters, defence sector DEFCONs and procurement processes. We like to get in early with inventors and engineers, before the prototype stage, to ensure any potentially valuable intellectual property is correctly managed and also to advise through the engineering life-cycle, this includes advising on issues around intellectual property rights, outsourcing/development, tooling and production facilities, supply arrangements as well as logistics, distribution arrangements and competition law matters. Once production is well established we can deal with customs and trade law issues, defects and product recall matters.
