Taylor Vinters Via’s Dispute Resolution Team recently won a case for YG Logistics Pte Ltd in Singapore’s Court of Appeal, the most senior Court in the jurisdiction.

The challenge

Our client, YG Logistics Pte Ltd, was facing appeals at Singapore’s highest court, the Court of Appeal. The appeals arose from four suits dating back to 2016 concerning a failed joint venture, and involved claims for various breaches of contract, breaches of director’s duties, loss of chance, torts of lawful and unlawful conspiracies and an application to wind up a company.

Our support

Anthony Soh and Jasmine Toh from Taylor Vinters Via’s Dispute Resolution Team took on the case, and scored a major victory for our client. Not only did they successfully resist the appeals on all four suits, but also demonstrated their resilience and determination by mounting a cross appeal, obtaining a 10-fold increase in one of our client’s counter claims.

Making great things happen

Far from being a one-off success, this victory in the Court of Appeal marks the next stage in enforcing the judgement, and our team is currently advising our client on how to maximise its consequences.

Our Dispute Resolution Team at Taylor Vinters Via has a wealth of experience in resolving disputes and helping clients find commercially viable and practical solutions to their problems. Please do contact them if you are facing a dispute in Singapore and need strategic advice.
