It was recently announced that Agrimetrics and Telespazio UK were awarded the Defra Data Services Platform (DSP3) contract.

The Data Services Platform (DSP) serves numerous Defra Group partners, individual users and supported 1.8 billion Application Programming Interface calls between 2019-2021, revealing key data sets such as fish populations, bathing water quality and flooding risks.

Defra are known for collecting a large amount of environmental data, within this plant, animal, health, biosecurity and more. This key data is essential in helping to support their objectives to help the wider government and their stakeholders achieve their targets to protect the ecosystem and environment. In sharing this data with stakeholders they can provide evidence to help steer future decisions. To put it simply, the greater the data the better the decisions will be and will only increase and enhance the data sharing within the industry.

Working as a team, Telespazio UK and Agimetrics will provide the next-gen development of the data services platform, framed by the DSP3 contract, helping Defra become a platform for open innovation with data sharing at the heart of their business Telepsazio have forty years of experience under their belt, delivering high end, operational services for their global customers. Along with this, they can utilize Agrimetrics already existing Data Marketplace platform, allowing them to expand the usage of data and evolution of technical services.

Agrimetrics and Telespazio are delighted to help Defra achieve their ambition of the Government’s 25-year Environment Plan.
