Taylor Vinters is pleased to announce its 2016 promotions for lawyers who have continued to develop their value in the business in the last year and also the firm’s introduction of a new designation – Senior Counsel – representing an alternative for progression to partnership for Senior Associates within the firm.

As Ed Turner, Managing Partner explains “the Senior Counsel role provides a progression opportunity for Senior Associates with outstanding technical and client skills equivalent to those of a Partner but without the associated internal business related role that comes with Partnership. The introduction of this role has come from assessing and aligning the needs of our lawyers and our clients and offers an alternative route for progression outside of the traditional structure, ensuring that we deliver for both.“

He continues “All of these promotions reflect the considerable personal achievements of the individuals involved and our desire as a business to provide real opportunities for development and progression. All of the individuals involved in this year’s promotions demonstrate alignment with client needs as well as our firm’s focus and the values that are at the heart of our firm.”

Overall 8 promotions have been announced including new partners Helen Mutucumarana and Louisa Dixon.

Helen, who has been with the firm 5 years, has had an outstanding year taking over the leadership of the commercial real estate practice and, with support from the rest of the team, has delivered a hugely successful transition for the restructured team.

Louisa’s contribution to the continuing growth and success of the commercial technology business combined with her leadership and development of the brand protection practice – a business she has developed from the scratch within Taylor Vinters over the last 2 years

Dr David Rainford has been promoted to the position of Senior Counsel within the Commercial Technology business. David, who was a research scientist before becoming a lawyer, has developed a peerless reputation advising the technology and life sciences sector. He has worked on a number of key high value patent/technology based life sciences deals.

Alex Gooden and Fiona Lewsey from the Property and Private Wealth practice; Alison Smith and Daniel Song from the Commercial Technology practice; and Kate Ledwidge from the Employment practice have also been promoted to Senior Associate level.

Three 2nd year trainees have also been offered Associate positions: Becky Everitt will be joining the Commercial Real Estate team, Geoff Dragon will join the Commercial Technology practice and ‎Kirsty Devine will join the Employment practice.
