Employers should be mindful of the enhanced obligations and conditions that apply to their processing of “special categories” of personal data (often referred to as “sensitive” personal data).

This is particularly relevant in the current climate of COVID-19, where an employer may be processing an employee’s health data as part of its obligation to keep the workplace safe.
