I specialise in estate and tax planning for professionals and business owners based in the UK and for people living abroad with assets in the UK.
I am experienced in advising on complex estates, many of which include assets in numerous jurisdictions. My expertise includes formulating tax-efficient strategies to protect worldwide estates and ensure smooth succession to future generations. The structures are clear and tailored to your particular aspirations, with flexibility built in where desired to allow for a change in circumstances.
My approach is to gain a detailed understanding of your requirements and evolving situation so that I can proactively advise you on how to best achieve your objectives. I will work alongside your other strategic advisers and foreign lawyers (where relevant) to ensure a harmonised approach. I am understanding, efficient and committed to going the extra mile to exceed expectations.
I joined Taylor Vinters as a trainee in 2009 straight from BPP Law School. Prior to that, I read History at Edinburgh University. I qualified into the Private Wealth Team in 2011.
I will provide you with pragmatic advice and bespoke solutions to achieve your estate planning objectives.
I will help you structure and preserve your estate so that the people you wish to benefit from your wealth do so in a way that you are comfortable with and in a tax-efficient manner (where tax efficacy is an aim). If you need assistance with estate administration after a death, I will ensure that the process moves smoothly for you in a practical yet compassionate way.
I advise on all aspects of estate and succession planning, probates and the creation of trusts including:
- Succession and tax planning, including wealth preservation and asset protection
- Trust creation and administration
- Coordinating estate planning across multiple jurisdictions
- Strategies for dealing with business assets, including flexible succession and tax-efficiency
- Estate administration (“probate”) and post-death variations
- Resealing foreign grants of probate for UK assets
- Mental capacity issues and powers of attorney
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my family. I also love to ski, sail and bake.
